Center for Integrated Health Solutions

The Annapolis Coalition operates under the mission to improve the quality of life of individuals and communities by strengthening the effectiveness of all who work to prevent, treat, and support recovery from mental and substance use conditions.

A key component of strengthening the effectiveness of the workforce is to make sure that individuals with mental and substance use conditions can get the same great care whether they are seen in a specialty behavioral health setting or a primary care provider setting.  That is why The Annapolis Coalition has joined with several other organizations to form the SAMHSA – HRSA Center for Integrated Health Solutions (CIHS).

CIHS works to promote the integration of primary and behavioral health services to better address the needs of individuals with mental and substance use conditions. The National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare operates the Center, which is funded jointly by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the Health Resources Services Administration.

The Annapolis Coalition will contribute its expertise and resources such as literature, training models and core competencies in the behavioral health workforce to the Center as a strategic integration plan is developed.
