Overview
With funding from SAMHSA, the Annapolis Coalition on Behavioral Health Workforce Education launched a major initiative on behavioral health workforce competencies in 2004. A series of review papers on critical topics was commissioned and developed as background for the Annapolis Coalition's Conference on Behavioral Health Workforce Competencies, which was held in Annapolis, Maryland on May 10-11, 2004. Those papers, related commentaries, and a set of consensus recommendations from the conference can be accessed through this web site.
A central premise of this phase of work has been that progress on competency development in behavioral health might accelerate if informed by advances on this topic in the fields of business and general medicine.
